COVID-19 Updates

April 3rd, 2023

Dear valued patients,

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has ended the mask mandate in healthcare facilities, effective April 3rd, 2023. This previously required all doctors, employees, and patients to wear a mask in any healthcare facility. Now, our patients may now choose whether they would like to wear a mask at our office or not. Our doctors and staff will continue to wear masks for the time being, as DOH infection prevention and control guidelines continue to recommend masks for patients and healthcare providers.

Although COVID-19 cases have been declining, we encourage you to continue protecting your health by washing hands often and staying home when you feel sick. These actions can be crucial to keeping yourself, friends, and family happy and healthy. If you test positive for COVID-19 before an appointment, we ask that you let us know ASAP and stay home.

As always, our doctors and staff are diligent in following infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Washington State Department of Health (DOH),  Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Washington State Dental Association (WSDA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.

Sincerely,

Steven M. Machida, DDS

March 11th, 2022

Dear valued patients,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. The past few years have been turbulent and trying, but through it all, we are committed to prioritizing your safety.

As of March 11th, 2022, King County has lifted mask mandates in certain areas. However, masks are still required in healthcare facilities by state law. In our office, we will still be requiring masks. You will be prompted to remove your mask for the dental procedure. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 425-771-0165.

May 19th, 2020

Dear valued patients,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming to our routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Our office has been back open since May 19th, 2020. Dental offices resumed to normal business on this date per Governor’s guideline.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

We have operatories that are already separate so that patients are isolated in each room.  In addition, you may see few changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office as well as non-contact temperature check.
  • We have hand sanitizer that you may use when you enter the office, but we kindly ask that you try not to touch as much as possible.
  • We are requiring everyone to wearing a mask upon entering our office. You will be prompted to remove your mask for the dental procedure.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys, and water station since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We added air purifier to each operatory increasing safety of the air quality for patients.
  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 425-771-0165.
